On March 24th at Mary Queen of Peace, the Cleveland Comitium's Acies was held. The purpose of the Acies is to renew and deepen our Consecration to Mary each year. The event is scheduled as close to the Feast of the Annunciation (March 25) each year. The Comitium thanks Mary Queen of Peace for hosting this year, and their Pastor Fr. Brown for presiding over the wonderful ceremony. Some photos from the day can be found below: Bishop's Installation + Mass (9/5/17)
The Legion of Mary was amongst those summoned by the new Bishop Nelson Perez, and included in the unmistakable Biblical feast in which all are called -- the great and the least. That it was set on the feast day of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta was altogether relevant, for most remarkable was the balm in his words. His first words to the Cleveland Diocese were an act -- an encouraging sending (to spread God's saving Word) to a world in great need. The Gospel reading was the calling of the disciples after the night spent catching no fish, of Jesus asking them to go out further to the deep water, of the amazing catch, and of Jesus' words not to be afraid to catch people. Bishop Perez joyfully assures, the Lord wants to work miracles and He is in the boat! And with conviction he advised we not be afraid to put out into the deep, that we live with enthusiasm, with confidence, with generous hearts, giving ourselves to being instruments in building the world of today. Confide et Spera (Trust and Hope) these words were his message; these are the words of Bishop Nelson Perez's shield. He wonderfully does not hide, but proclaims his special devotion to our Blessed Mother. Legion of Mary, we couldn't all be there, but he was speaking to us all. He wanted and invited us (Mary's garment of flesh) to his first address. He promised us his prayers and asks for ours. Video of the installation Mass can be found HERE. Video of the Solemn Vespers can be found HERE. O Holy Servant of God, Frank Duff, Spirit-led in incorporating all the necessary elements into forming the Legion of Mary to bring the people to Jesus through Mary, we pray that through your intercession the Legion of Mary be in the ranks of those attending the Convocation of Catholic Leaders: The Joy of the Gospel in America July 1-4 and play the role in the re-evangelization of our country which God intends.
We ask this in the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. Amen. The Cleveland Comitium of the Legion of Mary would like to Thank Our Lady of Guadalupe Presidium of St. Raphael's Parish in Westlake Ohio for hosting the 2017 Acies! It was well attended with an estimated 120 Legionaries attending. It was a beautiful ceremony as we consecrated our selves to Our Lady for another year. |
